Student Ministry 2011

We are nearing the end of 2011 and would like to acknowledge and commend the students who participated in various service projects throughout this past year. The following is just a partial list of their labor in 2011:

City Mission/Laura’s Home

            Operation Christmas Child

            Cleveland Pregnancy Center

            Cornerstone Pregnancy Center

            The Renaissance

            Olmsted Community Center

            Ballet Magnificat

            Vacation Bible School

            Parking Lot Sealing

            Sojka Family Projects

            Single Mother Yard Work

Isn’t this an impressive list? The goal for the students was to cultivate an appetite for service. We live in an age where most young people are consumed with a desire to stimulate and entertain themselves. We want something better for our students.

We would like to thank those who participated in Student Ministry this year:

     Students                       Adults

Mary Ramsey              Bill Bound

Caleb Sonntag              Marsha Deetz

Micah Sonntag             Mike Ramsey

Rebekah Spurlock       The Sharpes

Rachel Spurlock          The Spurlocks

We will finish our year with a bowling party and look for more ways to serve in 2012.

Special December Services

Sunday, December 4th

We have set apart this Sunday service to present a teaching and some practical ideas on how to identify and reach out to unchurched people.

It is the heart of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ to seek and save the lost. Especially, during the Christmas season, we need to contemplate the lengths He went to reach out to us.

Christmas Eve

As has become our tradition, we will once again host a Christmas Eve Service  at The Renaissance. This time of special worship and teaching will begin at 7:00 p.m. and last about an hour (so we can all be home with our families).

This time will be filled with music, candle lights, readings, a teaching on the amazing names of Messiah and the joy of God’s promise fulfilled.

Christmas Morning

Every so often, Christmas falls on Sunday; such is the case this year. Per our normal pattern, those who are able will gather at Olmsted Community Center for worship at 10:30 a.m.

We will offer some coffee, juice, pastries and fruit at 10:00 a.m. for a time of Christmas morning fellowship. Afterwards, we will have a time of worship and teaching, as we conclude a message on the amazing names of Messiah (begun the night before on Christmas Eve).

Because of our continental breakfast, there will be no Sunday School Christmas morning.
